Splitboarding is a rapidly growing segment within snowboarding and is fuelled by riders wanting to push themselves and their snowboarding into new, unexplored territory without having to rely on expensive or environmentally damaging equipment.

2015 marks the eight edition of Tailgate Alaska, the event is the annual pilgrimage of dedicated recreational riders, professional athletes and the industry to ride the world’s best mountains and deepest snow on the planet. Dates are 3-12 April 2015 at Thompson Pass, Alaska.
Tailgate Alaska offers multiple on-site rescue teams and free daily snow science classes, nightly seminars given by industry veterans and snow safety experts, who share their experience with participants of the event.
