In the third of Jake Blauvelt's Naturally webisodes, Jake and Kazu Kokubo head deep into the BC backcountry where they scope out and destroy the mother of all windlips.
We've all been there: when you get so excited about killing it on a feature that you skip the proper warm up steps and end up hurting yourself? Well, turns out it happens to the best as well.
With the snow conditions far from perfect but the pressure cranked up to the max to get the shots, Jake and Kazu end up pushing it a little too hard and not getting the results they were hoping for. Kazu doesn't manage to stomp his trick and Jake takes an awkward tumble, dislocating his shoulder in the process.
His shoulder injury turns out to be pretty major setback in the filming of Naturally, and Jake has to take some serious time out to recover and recuperate.
One year later, Jake is ready for some payback. He returns to the very same spot with Eric Jackson and Shayne Pospisil, all healed up and ready for vengeance. Thankfully, the second time round goes much smoother, with all three dudes getting a bunch of hammer tricks stomped. Frontside 1260s, double corks and big lofty backside 540s all get ticked off and the crew walk away satisfied. Job done, bish bash bosh.
