In the latest episode of Diaries Dowunder, Nick Hyne and the crew embark on an epic journey through New Zealand’s Southern Alps. If this doesn’t make you want to visit Kiwiland, we don’t know what will!
Whether you are considering flying into Christchurch and making your south to then leave Queenstown – or doing it in reverse, you won’t be disappointed – The Southern Alps (and several million sheep) will keep you company the entire way.
From the dramatic scenery that encompasses beaches, lakes, jungle and mountains to the chilled-out lifestyle that the Kiwis preach, visiting New Zealand should be near the top of everyone’s bucket list. Add to that the fact that you can score some amazing conditions in the winter time, and you’ve got yourself a pretty damn sick destination.
The South Island is filled with a ton of hidden gems, and in the latest episode of Diaries Downunder, the guys track the Southern Alps from Christchurch down to Queenstown. First up it’s Mount Hutt with a step-down rail session that gets loose with some crazy tricks from the likes of Mack James and Benny Comber, next the guys hit up Ohau, which we’ve never heard of, but looked pretty damn fun to ride. Finally, the guys wind up in The Remarkables, and are greeted with a layer of fresh to shred. All tales told, it looked like a killer road trip.
