Backside 540s are one of the nicest feeling tricks you can do, and look amazing combined with a stalefish grab. In this Blue Tomato trick tip, Mario Käppeli takes us through this certified classic.
You should already have your backside 360s on lock before attempting these ones, which involve a little more snap off the lip.
Once you’re in the air at around 180 degrees, reach for your heel edge with your back hand to grab stale, and don’t be afraid to add a bit of poke into the mix. Stalefish works well because the motion of grabbing actually aids the backside rotation.
