We've known for a while that there'd be a follow up to Travis Rice's 2011 game changing movie The Art of Flight, but until now, we'd seen no new footage, or had any real indication that filming was going down. This new edit from Red Bull and Brain Farm changes all that.
From what we can gather, Travis has been logging shots for the movie this winter and this edit marks the official first day of filming.
Like the Art of Flight, the currently unnamed movie will use cutting edge cameras to document some of the best snowboarders in the world going absolutely ballistic in the backcountry all around the globe.
For this movie, Brain Farm, the production company behind the past two, will be using state of the art 4K cameras to film the action and if this new edit is anything to go by, it's going to as sharp as ever. Talk about camera porn.
Travis is still staying somewhat mysterious about the exact locations for shooting:
This film is an incredibly ambitious project. After pushing the limits in 'The Art of FLIGHT' we knew that it would be tough to take it to the next level without seriously getting out there. I can't reveal where we're going yet, but I can say we are headed into the unknown, and it’s an entirely new approach to following winter for me. Our team is going all in on this one.
And Curt Morgan, founder of Brain Farm is equally piquing our interest:
We’ve spent almost 2 years now on pre-production and logistical planning for this film. Between scouting new locations, developing our storyline, and working on the creative aspects, I feel the time invested will be the differentiating factor in this production.
Way to tease us dudes. The film's title, projected release date and more will be revealed later this fall.
