Pure Gallic gold dust as prolific analog photographer and strapper of camcorders to SLRs, Monsieur Jerome Tanon, releases the teaser to his movie project that will show 100% REAL snowboarding. Watch this.
Jerome Tanon is mental – in the best possible way. Proof? Check this Onboard Photo Annual cover he shot for us last season, or his copper plate etching experiments, or the fact that since digital photography became the default medium for jobbing shred snappers he decided to shoot only analog. Film. That stuff that you can’t see the results immediately and that costs money to print and find out none of the shots on the roll work, and that when you send to magazines they tend to shrug their shoulders and say ‘we don’t have a scanner anymore…’
Three years ago, Jerome decided to tape a video camera to his SLR, and began to film everything he shot… and more. Now he’s begun to sift through the gigabytes of footage to assemble a movie that purports to show the highs, the lows, the stomps, the slams, the personalities, the fuckwittery and pretty much anything else that’s true about this thing we do.
If the full film – Jerome hopes to have it finished next autumn – is anything like the teaser, it will be at once nothing like anything we’ve seen before, weird, awesome, and fucking awesome.
