Check this teaser for the Czech and Slovak film project NEVER TOO LATE MOVIE…
Freeride.cz and Inmove Films present the official trailer of “NEVER TOO LATE MOVIE”, a full-
length snowboard movie from Czech Republic and Slovakia.
There hasn’t been a big snowboard movie project in Czech Republic & Slovakia for a long time. This fall it’s luckily going to change, because Freeride.cz online magazine and Inmove Films joined their forces with some of the best Czech & Slovak riders to create a movie project called NEVER TOO LATE MOVIE.
“Hundreds of various edits appear on internet nowadays, but we’d like to continue the tradition of full-length movies. And mainly show riding by our boys, because they are much closer to Czech & Slovak snowboard community than all ‘superstars’ from all over the world,” says Martin Vecerka, Freeride.cz editor-in- chief and the movie producer.
The Czech & Slovak snowboard scene can’t be compared to strong European superpowers like Austria, Switzerland, France or Scandinavian countries, although NEVER TOO LATE MOVIE producers still wanted to show there are many riders that deserve attention. They were filming mainly with members of Horsefeathers Clothing team – versatile riders Petr Horak and Dusan Kriz and street killer Zoltan Strcula. Czech Flow team represent siblings Dan & Ondrej Porkerts and you can look forward to unique styles of Czech street-to- backcountry star Roman Dlauhy and urban riders Stepan Rokos and Lukas Bendak as well. Couple of other friends will have their shots in final movie too.
This winter offered the NEVER TOO LATE MOVIE production great conditions in their countries after a few years of desparate seasons and during January they could film mainly in Czech & Slovak urban locations. Then the crew headed for couple of shootings to Alpes, mainly Arlberg, to get some backcountry footage.
Interesting thing is that NEVER TOO LATE MOVIE is the first snowboarding project in Czech
Republic co-financed by crowdfunding. During spring campaign almost 450 people contributed with different amounts of money to help to finish the whole project. Authors of the movie report finishing the final version of the movie, which will have almost 40
minutes of footage divided in individual riders parts. The official trailer shows what you can expect.
And why Never Too Late? Martin explains: “Well, many people think that the great era of snowboarding is dead for a long time already. It’s true that lot of things indicate that – couple of really bad winters, dealers sales went down, almost all printed magazines are dead and there is a really small number of full-length movies compare to past. But to speak for myself, I don’t see it that negative and I believe it’s gonna get much better again soon. So when we were thinking about the name, somebody proposed Never Too Late, which describes perfectly the actual situation of snowboarding in our country, and I think not only here. I would be happy if our movie motivates people to get their asses up and go ride, or even to make something more for snowboarding like movies, events and other projects. It’s never too late!”
