The most creative ideas come from having your environment restricted, so it was no surprise when last year, Arthur Longo‘s Side Hits Euphoria – Chapter One melted the snowboarding internet. People were understandably frothed when they saw one of the world’s best pipe riders take his style and amplitude to the same kind of features they seek out on a standard day’s riding. To say the people’s imagination was piqued would be an understatement.
“One of the world’s best pipe riders take his style and amplitude to the same kind of features they seek out on a standard day’s riding”
Since then, there’s been whispered rumours of a sequel. After all, you don’t call something ‘Chapter One’ if you don’t intend on making a follow-up.
Today your hopes and dreams have been answered – filmed around Vancouver and at Mount Seymour, Laax and Arêches-Beaufort by Arthur’s longtime collaborator Olivier Gittler, it’s really all we could have asked for. There’s the same insane pop followed effortless float off the smallest of bumps, but with an understanding that they needed to step it up for the second part – some of the hits are properly massive!
Honestly, if it weren’t for the socking great piste in the middle of each shot you’d be hard-pressed to say why you weren’t watching a full part. Except that the magic comes from the piste. You’ve ridden hits like that, we have too. Hell, anyone who’s ever been to Laax has probably ridden past that lump on P60 at 2.18.
We hope you feel as inspired as we were after watching us, and now please join us in hoping for a Side Hits Euphoria – Chapter Three. #SHE
