Near Death: If You Don’t Know the Terrain, Don’t Assume the Guy Ahead of You Did Either

Here’s another entry for our freshly revived ‘near death’ series. Watch what happens when a skier in Telluride, CO, seemingly safely following someone else’s tracks off piste, happens upon a 40+ foot cliff. We’ll give you a hint: he didn’t stick it.

Regardless of whether you ride on two pieces of wood or one, it’s never a good idea to blindly follow somebody else’s tracks off piste when you have no idea what the terrain is like.

Like this guy found out, the guy whose tracks you were following could have been equally clueless, or alternatively, shit hot, and intentionally sending it towards the cliff.

Apparently, this guy got off pretty lightly, suffering only a hurt shoulder – it could have been way worse. If you don’t know the terrain, don’t assume the guy ahead of you did either.
