Introducing the KneeFlyer: the latest totally weird snowboard invention and idea that seemed great to approximately 15 people, that we're saddened to say is probably destined to a lifetime spent flopping around like a drowning fish in the primordial swamp of failed kickstarter projects.
But what is a KneeFlyer we hear you scream? Well, it's basically a short, fat snowboard with a foam bucket on it for you to kneel in.
I went wakeboarding at a cable park once (it was actually sort of fun alright?) and after watching a super lame 30 minute long safety video, was forced to ride a kneeboard before I could progress to the big boy wakeboard. It's safe to say that it was one of the most torturous and humiliating experiences of my entire adult life. At least with this thing you'd get a whole bunch of faceshots on a pow day rather than a mouthful of pondweed, although crashing into another skier could look, well, pretty rapey.
To be fair to him, Chris' pitch is far more professional and thought out than some other Kickstarter ones we've seen, but we still don't really think people will be excitedly flailing at the opportunity to spend 425 dollars to be one of the first people to own one of these.
We'll stick to actual snowboarding thank you very much. And while we're on the topic of rather horrible snowboard inventions, go and check out this post for ten more that were probably best left on the cutting room floor.
Big up to the good folk across the pond at YoBeat for picking this one up.
