The Fun Area Fiss-Ladis is calling out for the best shred time of the year. Once more, winter has provided us with a truckload of fresh snow and the setup at the Fun Area Fiss-Ladis is in its prime. Of course, we couldn´t miss this opportunity and sent out our photo and film crew to take some shots of invited riders!
Spring has officially begun, but as if winter wanted to prove a point, we got a massive load of fresh snow exactly on that date. This is good news for every freestyle enthusiast near Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, because the Fun Area will easily provide us with action-packed sessions over the next couple of weeks! Right now, you´ll find 43 obstacles in the shred world at Fiss´ north side, the final result of an entire shape season.
At the photo and film session last week Mario Winkler, Fabian Fraidl and even park designer David Mahnig stopped by. When we asked him about his opinion on the park, a big smile grew on his face and he summed up: “I´m very pleased! We’ve created a very diversified set up this year. There´s a jib line, which offers something for rookies as well as advanced riders and a second line with a couple of special obstacles leading into the kicker line." The strength of the park lies especially in its well-balanced conception. It offers action for everyone and on a high level. And this won’t change by warmer temperatures at the end of the season, as David tells us: “Spring sessions are really good at the Fun Area and highly recommended! It´s the only time of the year where the landings get soft and forgive mistakes."
Mistakes were probably the last thing David was thinking about, when he shredded with his snowboard through the Fun Area and smoothly stomped one after the other trick. In first half of the shooting, the focus was laid on the varied obstacles of the jib line and you could clearly see that the guys had a blast while shredding the butter boxes, rails and tubes. Despite the jib euphoria, the kickers were also very popular and those 7 jumps provided the riders with their desired airtime. This is David´s personal highlight: “My favourite in the park is the kicker line, for the simple reason that I feel the best while riding kickers."
They shredded until late in the afternoon and even though the great atmosphere almost put them up for some more laps, the crew finally had to bundle the equipment to head down to valley. Then, as soon as David checked the weather forecast for the next day, he grinned: “They announced half of a meter of fresh snow. Looks like winter is coming back once again."
