Watch Terje Haakonsen put down a full top to bottom run through the Laax mini-pipe with his timeless style and cat-like precision.
It’s not everyday that you get to see Terje Haakonsen just cruising. In fact, we don’t think it’s really in his nature to do things by half-measure.
While we were in Laax for the Sudden Rush Banked Slalom, an event hosted by Nicolas Müller and Terje Haakonsen, and of course won by the latter (in switch as well we might add), we managed to grab Terje for a quick lap through the mini pipe.
Of course, Terje’s legacy as a snowboarder extends far beyond the stunt-ditch, with his influence still being felt in all corners of snowboarding.
His fluid, precise style is simply timeless, with every tweak and every invert calculated and perfected over years spent truly mastering his craft.
From his textbook McTwist, to the poke in his air to fakie, this may not be Terje hitting the biggest pipe in the world, but it is a showcase of one of the greatest snowboarders to have ever lived just plain cruising.
