A good 10 months ago now we dropped a season edit for a Canadian snowboarder by the name of Katie Vogel. Fast forward to July 21st and her brand new one is here. This girl charges!
Katie spent the past season honing her kickers and rails in the freestyle mecca that is Whistler Blackcomb, and it sure looks like it paid off. Take a look at some of the footage she stacked in the Blackcomb Nintendo park, up on the glacier and in the highest level park. Those jumps ain’t no child play!
From big frontside 7s to slow stalled out 360s, Katie’s got a good style and definitely knows how to hit a big kicker or two. There’s definitely still room to get a grab in those 7s and we would have loved to have seen the landing on that side-country double at the end, but it’s worth remembering that Katie’s only 20 and for sure has a lot more to give to snowboarding.
In fact, Katie has recently been added to Canadian Freestyle National Development team for the 2014/15 season so expect some serious progression out of this up and coming Canuck going into next winter. Props Katie!
