We love watching Josh Dirksen snowboard. In this new edit from Salomon, Josh takes it backs to the roots with some powerful carves and flowing turns. Forget tricks, turning your snowboard is what it’s all about sometimes!
There are few better feelings you can have on a snowboard than setting your edge and powering through a turn. Heelside and toeside turns are the pure building blocks of everything else you do on your board and too often they are overshadowed by today’s progressive riding.
In this edit, Josh Dirksen strips it back to basics and lays out a few serious carves. We don’t know about you guys, but this made us want to strap in and ride way more than seeing a textbook triple cork go down on an icy kicker!

From Salomon Snowboards: Josh Dirksen is one of our favorite snowboarders of all time. The way he turns his snowboard is something most of us only see in our wildest dreams. With the 8th annual Dirksen Derby officially kicking off tomorrow, we thought this would be the perfect time to share this video of Josh taking some turns at his home mountain, Mt. Bachelor. The Dirksen Derby also happens to be one of the best snowboard events of the year, and it’s all for a good cause. For more information visit –mtbachelor.com/site/plan/info/events/dirksen_derby
