Hans Kestilä – 2017 Full Part

For his 2017 full part, Finnish ripper Hans Kestilä stuck exclusively to the epic terrain, scenery and light of Scandinavia. Peep this!

“I’d say Scandinavia’s strengths, terrain-wise, are versatility and reasonable distances,” he says. “Lapland, especially during the spring time, is pretty magical, with long sunsets and good mountain-terrain. Then there are lots of hilly cities which provide good urban terrain. One surprising thing that I’ve learned over the past couple of seasons is that there’s such awesome mountain terrain in southern Norway, too. Right at the latitude of Helsinki, a couple hundred kilometres inland from the Atlantic coast, Norway’s mountains get a huge amount of snow during the midwinter. It’s not quite the way Japan is, but it has some of the same characteristics.”

Every time we’ve had the privilege of riding in Scandiland we’ve been blown away by how awesomely different it is compared to the central Europe Alps. If you’re wanting a more unique shred experience than the motorway hardpack and shitfight for fresh lines commonplace in the Euro mega resorts, we can highly recommend looking north.

Anyway, Scandi-love aside, press play on Hans’ part and enjoy the fruits of his 2017 labours, including some cameos from homies Ville Vappula, Saku Tillikainen and Juho Haapalainen. Pow, park and urban ripping from way up north!
