In this week’s flashback part, we take it back to 2010 with Dylan Thompson‘s stand out part in FODT’s ‘The Arena’.
Over just a few short seasons, Dylan Thompson has really has stepped up his game and now perches at pretty lofty heights up on the rungs of the professional freestyle snowboarder ladder.
His full part in the FODT/Technine movie The Arena from 2010 was perhaps his breakthrough section, showcasing his immense raw talent for hitting the biggest, gnarliest features, combining technicality with great style and balls-out riding (figuratively speaking, of course).
From the opening switch backside lipslide down the ridiculously long rail in Cole Taylor’s back yard (one of the nicest we’ve seen in recent memory we might add), to the frankly ridiculous nosepress drop off ender, Dylan’s part is 4 minutes of jaw dropping urban snowboarding.
Although the heavily hip hop influenced, thugged out style of riding seems to be on the decline these days, this part is a great reminder of the awesome snowboarding that went down in the FODT movies. Dylan THompson set the bar high with his part in The Arena, and it more than deserves a repeat viewing.
Cracking Buffalo Springfield/Public Enemy tune as well we might add.
