BLOWING UP: Caroline Degardh Full Part and Interview

Caroline Degardh is such a boss on rails. The young Swedish ripper took some serious slams while filming this part for the Scandalnavians movie but also logged some absolute hammers. Watch it now and then check out her interview from issue 140 of Onboard below:

The first I heard about Caro was when her then TM for 32 told me about this Swedish girl they had on the team who was killing it over there. I was immediately blown away by her edit. It had some of the biggest street rails in Stockholm and she bossed it with properly pressed 5-0s, legit front boards and ending on a huge gap to boardslide. It was still on private but I boosted the visits loads! [laughs]. Caro is so underrated it’s unreal and one of the best European girls on rails by miles –

So. Why snowboarding?

I started working in a snowboard shop, and figured it was the only thing to do…

Who were the riders that influenced you when you were a grom?

I got really inspired by some local skaters. They made board sports in general look so bad ass, even though I was skiing at that time, unfortunately.

Date of Birth: December 10

Stance: Regular

Hometown: Stockholm, Sweden

Local Mountain: Hammarbybacken / Åre

Years Riding: 4

Sponsors: Salomon, Bonfire, Transform Gloves,, SK Posse, Stitch n Stones

What movie did you watch over and over as a kid?

I was really hooked on Toy Story…

How did you get your first sponsors?

I got skis from Salomon when I was skiing, actually, and then I started snowboarding and got boards instead. No hassle.

What tricks do you LIKE todo, and what tricks do you do because you HAVE to?

I like to do more simple tricks that I can make look good, and technical ones if I have to.

Have you travelled much? Where’s been your favorite place so far?

Yeah, well I’ve been around some, but Fonna in Norway is one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to so far.

Park, pow, streets, contests, filming – which sums up your riding best?

Park is for sure the most fun! With a bunch of friends, on a spring day, just for your own fun. And especially if you can squeeze a couple of forest snake runs and toe edge sprays in there as well.

Describe shooting with the Scandalnavians in 10 words or less.

Pain, blood and hopelessness. Then I had some fun.

Whose riding stokes you out these days?

JJ Juchli and Danyale Patterson – bosswoman for sure. And bossman Danimals.

What one trick would you put in Room 101?

Frontside hard way 1.

What do you want to achieve in snowboarding?

Have as much fun as I possibly can with the people I like the most.

Tell us a secret.

I have a removable fake front tooth. Slightly mood-changing party trick.

What’s the best and worst thing about being a female snowboarder in a crew mainly made of dudes?

If I’m out of snus I can always find a dude who has some, but I can never find a solution if I’m out of nail polish.
