Artem Smolin – Full Part from Postland’s Loose

This Russian rider went all in filming for Postland Theory’s latest movie, Loose. Mind that gap!

Since Dmitri Fesenko burst onto the European scene in the early 2000s, Russian riders have been renowned for their gritty street smarts. As countless internet videos have attested, people from Mother Russia can seem to have a decidedly laissez-faire relationship with personal safety, and when you apply such a ‘zero fucks given’ mentality to snowboarding the results can be mind blowing. That’s not to say they’re all huckers – far from it. Artem Smolin, like compatriot Deni Leontyev, clearly has a tonne of board control going on which makes for some explosive snowboarding.

We first had our heads turned by Smolin’s riding from his appearances in the projects put out by the WeAre2012 crew back in the day. Since then he’s added adidas to his list of sponsors, that also include Salomon, which saw him appear in the Russian arm of the three-stripe brand’s rootsy Nomads series, that epic adidas Russia edit, and this epic adidas Russia edit from last year. He also linked up with the Postland Theory crew a couple of years back for a solid shared part with Raffi Kossman, before going all in with them for their most recent movie, Loose.

And now, as they’ve done for most of the other Loose riders (Cees Wille’s ender drops next week – and it’s insane) the Postlanders have dropped Artem’s full part live and direct on this thing they call the internet. As street parts go it’s heavy. There are some killer transfers in this, a moment where he might have knocked his block off, and the whole part is wrapped up with the Mother of all gap-to-front-lips; one that’ll have you pumped. That was nothing short of bonkers!

Nice work, boys!
