Feast your eyes on the first ever Swedish/ Scandinavian snowboard movie. The Scands was produced and released all the way back in 1994 so it's probably older than most of you reading this, how's that for a #TBT? Some real vintage shit right here.

Who cares if it's super old, this crop of riders are considered legends for good reason. They were the original pioneers, sending it off everything in sight, travelling the world, crushing mountains, slaying pipes and having the sickest time. These guys were the riders everyone else wanted to be like, pushing progression and tweaking harder than any modern day contest kid ever could. The spins might be a little squirley and the landings a little loose but it all adds to the charm and shows how raw it was back in the day. When all the silverbacks of the snowboarding world say it was better in the 90's, this is the kind of stuff they are trying to recall from the hazy depths of their fading memories, so if you ever want to have a discussion about the now and then of snowboarding, you need to be talking about this era. You can't refer to it without watching, so watch. This is an absolute banger of movie, a vintage classic that has only improved with time. Old school 16mm vibes have never felt so good.

Featuring scandinavians riders like Terje Haakonsen, Ingmar Backman, Johan Olofsson, Daniel Franck, Sebu Kuhlberg, Brian Iguchi, Eva Sandelgård, Marcus Fahlringe, Oskar Norberg, Anders Hagman, Jacob Söderqvist among many more, it should be a punishable crime to not watch this.

Filmed in Chamonix France, Pont du bron Switzerland, Stryn and Trysil Norway, Riksgränsen and Sälen Sweden with one helluva soundtrack that will be in your head for days to come.

Shot by Stefan Nilsson and Crille Forsberg. All shot on 16mm. Co. Production by Funsport, Burton, Quiksilver, Extreme, Sims.
