[The 24h stream has now finished, so we hope you got a chance to check it. Ender is available to buy on iTunes, and after giving it a watch we’d say it’s definitely one to have on the digital DVD rack.]
We have Eero Ettala’s epic new movie, Ender, streaming for free for 24h. Trust us, you won’t want to sleep on this! Also, Make sure you don’t miss our interview with Eero Ettala where we go deep into the project and what it’s like to film movie parts year after year.
ENDER – The Eero Ettala Documentary tells the story of the snowboarding pioneer’s decade of passion and self-sacrifice towards pushing the limits of what’s possible on a snowboard.
Eero is one of the snowboarders who has had to re-create himself year after year for the past decade to keep up with the fast-paced developments in professional snowboarding. Ender offers a vantage point to see what has happened in snowboarding throughout the past decade and gives us a detailed look into Eero’s career. We’ll see previously unseen footage of Eero filming his video part for the 2014/2015 season; the last video part of his career.
“The movie tells about snowboarder’s career, one man’s determination and relentlessness and what you can achieve with those. The viewer doesn’t need to know anything about snowboarding – the movie focuses on describing a man’s passion for doing something in particular. During my career I’ve had to overcome many obstacles but I have never let them push myself down. With my determination I have reached the top – the place where I really want to be. This movie encourages all people to believe in their dreams and reaching for those without fear.”
Eero’s personal goal has always been to come out with a better video part than the previous year’s. As it was for the last time, he really wanted to one-up himself with this video. Ettala’s career isn’t ending though. Powered by new motivation the man is definitely to be heard from in the future.
“After this it’s time to bury filming movie parts and forget the pressure of producing certain amounts of raw footage every year. The best thing in snowboarding is the freedom to be creative, doing whatever you want and developing new things thinking outside the box. It took a long time for me to figure out that why should I do things the same way that everyone else does. It’s hard to stand out then. Now I get to draw my own lines and do my own thing. That bears fruit better.”
