All too often the mini movie format falls short. Sitting between the camps of full film and banger video part can often leave the viewer feeling like they’ve just watched a flick that didn’t quite have enough to hold your attention for a full half hour, but essentially lost momentum after the first few minutes.
Not so with Antti Autti and Iisakki Kennilä’s film ‘Closer’.
Closer luls you in slowly. But before you know it builds to something that combos amazing lines, great filming and beautiful shots, all set perfectly to the soundtrack by Missikisat. You never get the feeling that the momentum is going anywhere because as soon as it hits its stride, the film is relentless. It’s shot as if each line links into the next and that’s exactly the experience the viewer gets. Hit into line, into hit into line, culminating in some sketchy-looking sluff races and seriously tasty steep lines. There’s been some real though and some very nice work put into this one, that’s for sure.
