Frank Bourgeois, Ozzy Henning, Benny Urban, Anto Chamberland, Dan Brisse and Bode Merrill all went fully bonkers filming their one-and-a-half minutes of urban footy for this year's X Games Real Snow. But whose is your favourite?
Each year for what seems like an age now, the X Games challenge a select few riders and their filmers to produce a minute-and-a-half-long edit of their heaviest street hammers. Over the years there have been plenty of memorable moments, from veterans like Jeremy Jones, to the flowing skate-style lines of Louif Paradis, to the gargantuan features Dan Brisse has made a name for himself by hitting.
Once they've dropped, there's a two-pronged judging process. The main awards are handed out by a panel of 'industry experts' and receive cash money as well as the all-important props, but there's also the chance for Joe Public to have their say as there's also a separate Fan Favourite award - you can check the edits and vote for the one you think's the sickest over on the X Games Real Snow site.
Check them all out below, and make sure you vote for your favourite.
Frank Bourgeois / William Demers
Frank won this gig last year, and it's safe to say he didn't leave anything on the table when he was looking to reclaim his X-shaped crown. Some of the spots he hit are nothing short of massive, and he even manages to ride upside down on the underside of a bridge.
Dan Brisse / Mikael Ahtikari
Dan Brisse arguably wrote the book when it came to street boarding on steriods, and continues to hit the kind of 'Brissespots' that most right-thinking people wouldn't see as a rideable feature. There are some transfers, hardways, and a gap 450 that will have your jaws dropping.
Benny Urban / Alex Pfeffer
Benny's riding has always got us pumped, and he's got a hella good selection of spots and tricks in his edit. Not to mention he's got to now hold the world record for the most kinks ever ridden on a snowboard. We also were stoked on filmer/editor Alex Pfeffer's angles and editing, and the stop-motioned crumpled prints added some extra aesthetic spice to proceedings.
Ozzy Henning / Cole Taylor
What Ozzy's part may lack in the 'shit the bed that's massive' department (apart from a couple of shots - notably his Miller Flip ender), he more than makes up for with his flow and creativity. Fastplant slide to boardslide, anyone?
Bode Merrill / Jon Stark
One of the riders in this street-focussed edition who would be more than capable in a Backcountry version, Bode's a true ATV who doesn't seem to like having his back foot strapped in if some of his tricks in this are anything to go by. It could be just us, but we've never seen anything like the ender he has in this, either.
Anto Chamberland / Sam Sosnowski
This French-Canadian badman has been bossing it the last few years - most recently in the Shred Bots movie, R3boot, and expectedly took down some big game filming for this. Stuffed with transfers and gaps, the handdrag switchup is a slick way to wrap his edit up.
