Frederik Kalbermatten, Sammy Luebke, Levi Luggen, Silvano Zeiter, Creager, Howzee and many more pros, photodawgs, legends and passionate riders from all over the place went up to Bellwald which is located in the heart of the Alpes in Switzerland. "THE HOME-RUN2" was held for the second time and yes again, it was a blast!
With snowboarders from 3 different generations, stories were told about the old days and it seemed that everybody felt so lucky to be a part of THE HOME-RUN. Many pros and legends hadn't seen each other for quite some time and the Friday night gathering in the WHITE RABBIT bar set the vibes for the next two days.
On Saturday the contest was going down with 75 invited riders, held in the beautiful village of Bellwald. The course was kind of a snake run between the houses and since the resort was already closed; the riders were hiking the course and cheering for each other. The cheering already begun at the start gate - no matter if you were the local shaper or Fredi K, the event showed the right spirit of snowboarding.
After two qualification runs, 20 riders went straight to the finals. The riders from 21 to 30 had to search a drink buddy instead. 5 drinking battles decided which additional 5 riders will move to the final. All the riders went up to the starting gate and all the others continued the drinking game in the White Rabbit bar.
After the "contest" (-> this word doesn't really fit in here), the riders kept hiking up and riding down in a rapid fire or kind of boarder-x style battles. It seemed that everybody had a lot of fun riding the course with buddies they hadn't seen for a long time. The prize-giving was held in front of the bar and our speaker and nnim owner Phil could barely speak anymore since he was drinking schnapps-coffee from the early morning on.
In the evening all the riders gathered for the punk concert in the big chalet. Because all the riders were sleeping under the same roof the party was totally off the hook and so many crazy stories had to be to told the next morning...
Check out the video and many thanks to all the riders and helpers who showed up and made THE HOME-RUN once again unforgettable good! IT WAS AN ABSOLUTE BLAST AND SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!!!
