A bunch of Salmon Snowboards’ Euro ams descended on a slush-loaded springtime Laax for a few days of mob shredding the Swiss resort’s epic setup. Check it out!
Laax has cemented its status in the book of snowboarding’s folklore like precious other ‘ski’ areas have. The forward-thinking, youth-orientated approach of the resort’s bosses has seen them become a Mecca for all right-thinking freestyle folk – we could wax more lyrical about what epic moments have gone down there and how rad everything is, but checking out our recent Hot Spots – Laax edit for an in-depth look at just why #laaxisniceyo.
Though Laax rightfully garners a ton of praise for the quality of its terrain on a powder day, the laser-cut precision of its mid-winter Superpipe and its multiple park setups, the warm, slushy days of spring are when the place really comes alive for both pros and more mortal riders.
The Salomon Snowboards team have been pitching up in the Laax slush when the longer days roll on for a few seasons now, taking full advantace of the softer conditions to indulge in some mob-shredding snow surfing on the near-infinite lines offered up. This April was no different, as a group of frothing Salomon Ams got together the other weekend for the annual Spring Session to celebrate the end of season.
The riders who got in the van for this year’s spring mission – Toni Kerkela, Victor Daviet, Max Buri, Will Smith, Flo Corzelius, Raffi Kossmann, Sebi Springeth, Dylan Norder and Johan Nordhag – were cut loose in Laax for days of park shralping and a spot of good ol’ fashioned partying. Cue some styled out goodtimes in the minipipe, the iconic green jibs, and epic trannies. Enjoy!
