We try not to post skateboard edits unless they have a solid link to snowboarding but we think this new Red Bull video fits the bill. That, as well as the fact that it's pretty damn cool.
Roope Tonteri and Eero Ettala are well known for being pretty damn competent skateboarders and once the season winds down, you can bet that these two will be rolling around on 4 wheels and 2 trucks until the snow starts to fall again.
The whole idea behind this project was to go back to the roots and think why we skate in the first place.
The pair had the opportunity of skating a mini ramp constructed to float on Roope's home lake in Finland, and the resulting session is pretty damn cool. Watch as the boys, joined by a couple of skaters, air the spine, stall out some lip tricks and stomp some heavy tricks on a floating lump of wood.
Granted, this is near identical in concept and execution to the floating mini ramp that Bob Burnquist skated on Lake Tahoe as well as the one that featured in Volcom's 'True To This' so we're not exactly in a hurry to praise the originality of this fizzy-energy fueled project. That said, it's still pretty damn sick and we always enjoy watching Eero and Roope hold their own in the company of professional skateboarders.
