Marcus Kleveland is of of the many talented riders emerging from Norway over the last few years. Whilst most would imagine rumblings of a new threat from the north to be more norse mythology, than a real threat, but you’d do well to believe the hype when it comes to Marcus.
Having arrived on the scene with a triple cork video at the tender age of 13 – he’s gone from strength to strength both in his riding, and well…physically. With a roster of top notch results on the competitive circuit under his belt, and a health dose of trophies to stack in his cabinet, two legends of snowboarding; Eero Ettala and Heikki Sorsa, took him under their wing on a trip to the Land of the Rising Sun.
The thought of transferring your talent on hardened Scandic terrain to pitted Nippon powder doesn’t seem an easy one, but Kleveland seems to have made the transition well. With Eero and Heikki mentoring you, you might be able to see why.
We bumped into Eero a few weeks back at the Sudden Rush Banked Slalom Laax a few weeks back, and he said they’d made Marcus promise to take at least one powder trip a season.
We don’t think it’ll be too taxing to keep that promise in all honesty…
