'Member the days when it was whiteout or a low tide season? You'd just hole up in your winter den or bar, watch videos, play Sonic and/or drink - most likely the latter. It wasn't good was it, waiting for the snow to come or the clouds to clear? You probably weren't very happy. You'd have loads of excuses as to why you didn't have a season edit that year and when the snow did eventually arrive, you'd be fat as fuck and unable to deal with more than a few laps before you collapsed, exhausted, back into your local.
"...Because winter over here has been a whole lot of lemons so far"
Well, with the latest #relatable trend in snowboarding, as well as silky carves and blitzing follow cams there comes a total absence of excuses not to go out and make the most of every day. C'mon, everything from your flight out there to the stupid, non-recyclable toothbrush you just bought is a walloping great warning sign that the end is nigh for this planet. When the last polar bear snuffs it you might also wish you'd made a few more turns.
Take Mt Bachelor for instance. By all accounts, the Pacific North West hasn't had a banger snow year compared to normal, but JP Schlick and his merry band of SnoPlank-ed Bachelors clearly haven't slowed down. Their latest edit is aptly titled Lemonade, "because winter over here has been a whole lot of lemons so far."
No worries - with a bit of love, lemonade is actually delicious, and if you're used to making the most from bitter, bitter lemons then when the Coca-Cola truck pulls up [stretching this metaphor a bit? - ed] then you might just be better placed to go nuts for it. Just check out the stoke when the powder comes near the end.
It was worth the wait.
