Last winter this Denver-based dude traded Colorado for Austria to take advantage of Europe's super season, and Loose Boardin Austria is the result...

We always love it when of our cousins from across the pond bounce over and get to experience the joys of snowboarding in Europe. The mountains! The terrain! The afterski! All tempered by a near-universal disgust when introduced the smoke-clogged bars of Austria.

From the early days of snowboarding media a host of North American crews have made a point of regularly made a point of coming to shoot in the Old Country - from FLF hitting Auron in Steak and Lobster, to MDP pitching up in Arlberg for weeks each winter, the mountains here have long tugged at the heartstrings of snowboarders from the US.

While, on the whole, we still lag some way behind America in terms of parks, when it comes to backcountry terrain the mix of easy access, big vertical, and more relaxed attitude to riding out of bounds here has flicked the switch of many US shredders, the latest of which being Grant Giller who spent a bunch of time over here the last couple of winters.

Having the Bataleon hookup means Mr @GGillz got to take advantage of the brand's lodge, located a stone's throw from the epic Absolut Park and the surrounding terrain of Flachauwinkl, and using this as a homebase lets you day mission to a host of other insane spots. Which Grant, along with Kiwi badman Roland Morley-Brown most assuredly did, sending it off kickers, slashing pow and getting fuelled up on schnitzels and beer.
