The Pilchard Productions boys linked up with Snowboard Team Sweden riders Måns Hedberg and Ludvig Billtoft as the duo flex their park riding muscles in Whistler's setup. Dive in for some slick park shredding, yo!
"Okay, technically it was a full afternoon and an hour-and-a-half the day after, too. But that's not as catchy," says Pilchard filmer Ben Howells. And he's right. But, you know, poetic license and all... What he's also right about is that it's crazy what you can film these days in such a short period of time "with a bit of sun and a perfect kickerline", and, naturally, riders of the calibre of Måns and Ludvig.
Back in the day tricks like these on jumps like this would be making their way into video parts, and rare as hen's teeth; now, they're able to be knocked out at will and dropped into Grams and online edits - though this is undeniably a higher class of park-lapping web fodder than most.
We've already waxed lyrical about Måns Hedberg plenty of times before on Onboard - the dude's riding is always that mix of technical chops, savvy style and creativity that makes us drop everything when he releases another edit - but we need to give mad props to Mr Billtoft here, too. This kid's got it all: he rides with such a surfy style and can make even the most mindbending tricks look effortless, plus he's the guy who's got possibly the best water butter ever committed to film in his spring mixtape...
Both of them are part of the Swedish snowboard team, who have spent a fair chunk of time dialling in their tricks on Whistler's perfectly groomed park setup of late. With some solid sized booters - including one of those wonky ones that we wish we had a cool-sounding name for - it looks like these two are prepping well for their forthcoming date with Olympic destiny.
Send it, boys!
