COLDSEAL – The SoapBar Movie

UK fridge kids venture outdoors under the wing of Andy Nudds

It seems like a long time since the UK kicked up some new blood. Since the demise of the Grindhouse movies, the likes of Sparrow Knox and Will Smith have moved on to more Euro-wide projects whilst others have hung up their boots without anyone to fill their places.

No longer. Self-identifying chavboarder John Weatherley has spent the last few winters taking fridge kids out of the domes and into the freezing Finnish streets. Not only has that helped reignite the embers of days past, with the help of Grindhouse producer Jamie Durham he’s produced the short film above under the guise of his wax brand SoapBar. Introducing COLDSEAL.

Without wasting any time, Charlie Kemp opens the proceedings by battering some classic Helsinki metal with a style that outstrips his council estate attire. It’s a fresh and exciting start, backed up by homies Omari Gordon, Leo Fordham and Calum Paton, the next wave of urbanites from the UK?

The Traplord himself gets a few clips alongside some other more familiar faces – Charlie QuinnConnor Carey and Angus Leith – before handing the closing ceremony duties over to Andy Nudds for his first full part in a few years.

“Andy Nudds: criminally underrated, the tricks are as bolts as the man is humble”

A couple of winters in the making, we’re so glad it’s finally made it into the light as Nuddsy is hands down one of the most stylish rail riders ever seen. Criminally underrated, the tricks are as bolts as the man is humble, and the end of the video is as much of a reminder of how great he is as it is a passing of the torch to the next generation of the UK fam. Let’s hope Brexit doesn’t stop them from making the trip outside again in years to come.
