When: Sun 15th of February 2009
Where: Foppolo (near Bergamo, IT )
First of the 2 Italian stops of the Peanut Butter Rail Jam: Foppolo, a small and nice mountain resort close to the city of Bergamo. After having postponed the event because of an avalanche closing the way to Foppolo last week, this weekend we’ve been welcomed by blue sky, sunshine and tons of snow! The riders came all along the morning from many different areas of Italy and even from Switzerland. The setup consisted of a flat box, a rainbow box and a flat-down box. First a little training with Nutella over the bread katanas and lots of candy ninja stars, then the shadow warriors started the kung-fu fighting.

In the meantime on the BBQ some yummy sausages started spread their scent in the air and more than 250 sandwiches have been gorged during the day! The youngest riders gave their best on all the boxes, trying tricks never tried before, and Andrea Corti was the final winner. Girls demonstrated that they don’t wanna just have fun and they fought like crazy during their heat, but la zia (the aunt) Marta had a 4WD board under her feet The 16+ riders killed it in the qualification heats, gapping and hammering the boxes. Hard for the judges to pick up the finalists.
During the finals the ninjas used some secret weapons, showing super solid tricks to win the enemies. Marco Lazzaroni took some good risks and won the finals, but Pascal Valli redeemed his 2nd place winning the Gooyest move of the day.
