Yesterday's qualification stages for the Sochi 2014 slopestyle event went off. There were some heavy flatspins thrown down and a handful of triple corks. Mark McMorris had difficulty on his first run but pulled it together on his second, stomping one of the more legit backside triple 1440s of the comp. Yet, he only managed to qualify 7th in his heat. Here he is with a gap to backlip.
Max Parrot posted the highest score of the entire qualification rounds with a run that included two double corks and a perfect triple. He's certainly looking like the one to beat going into finals tomorrow.
Roope Tonteri is a MACHINE on his snowboard. He posted the second the second highest score in his heat behind Max Parrot and will looking to step it up in tomorrow's finals.
