Xavier De Le Rue in Antarctica – Update 1

Huge ice walls above the see. Nothing like I've ever seen before... - photos:

“It’s been two days since we’ve left Ushuaia. We still haven’t reach the peninsula and I’ve spent most of my time lying in bed to avoid the sea sickness. I’ve puked a bunch of times…. but the sea seems to be getting better as we are approaching South Georgia Island.

The landscape is far beyond what I could expect

It’s quite unreal the atmosphere there is, crossing the famous Drake passage (worst crossing in the world), surrounded by these massive waves. We’ve seen a few whales already, the crew is really excited despite the long journey… Can’t wait to see what’s on the other side…!”

– Xavier De Le Rue

climbing above the water in hard steep snow, isn't that what it is all about?
