World Snowboard Federtation: USA Nationals 2007

The USASA National Championships are set to launch their 2007 edition and begin another year of the largest snowboard event in the world.

The Championships is a representative of the 35 USASA Regional Series throughout the US. This season, the USASA have organised more than 500 snowboard events, all hosted at more than 200 resorts nationwide.

From 1st to 6th April, more than 1400 riders are expected in Northstar, California, to compete in alpine, freestyle and boardercross events. Athletes will prepare to compete against top amateur snowboarders in the country.

Athletes are set to compete in five snowboard and skiing events including Halfpipe, Slopestyle, Boardercross, Giant Slalon and Slalon. Riders between the ages of five and seventy are to compete in 34 divisions to win more than 840 medals.

On the evening of April 1st, the festivities will be set in motion as riders celebrate the championships at the Ice Rink Plaza, in the heart of Northstar at Tahoe, with a competitor parade. All athletes will march to represent each of the 35 regions of the US displaying their local pride.

The annual event attracts more than 8000 people who will compete and watch the week of competition and daily festivities.

The USASA provides quality snowboard competitions to help recreational riders advance their competitive skills and gives Olympic hopefuls the opportunity to reach their ultimate goals and dreams.

The championships are made possible through the work of dedicated volunteers and sponsors including Nike 6.0, Skull Candy, K2 Snowboarding, Swix, Thirty Two, Launch Snowboards and many more.
