The immaculate Fellhornpark in Oberstdorf will play host to the O’Neill BBQ, the fourth stop of the Suzuki ‚Wir Schanzen’ tour this coming Saturday, March the 22nd. The already groomed slopestyle setup designed especially for the competition is ready and waiting. For all of you ubermotivated rippers; the park will already be open on Thursday for those registered, to practice their little hearts out.
The organisers caught up with Diana Sadlowski, a 21 year old Polish ripper, born in Hungary and now living in Innsbruck (for obvious shred-purposes), to hear her thoughts and feelings about this upcoming event.
1. You come from Poland. How did it happen that snowboarding took up such an important role in your life?
DS: I don’t know really.....One thing led to another. Two year’s ago I spontaneously decided to spend a season in Innsbruck. There I realized that snowboarding can become a true lifestyle, rather than a weekend hobby.
2. DId you already compete at the ‚O’Neill BBQ’?
DS: Not yet, but I’ve only heard good things about it!
3. What's your local shred spot? DS: I would say Mayrhofen at the moment. I live in Innsbruck, which is pretty close. Plus, Mayrhofen has a killer park!
4. What are your expectations for the O'Neill BBQ?
DS: A steak! Hehe. A good, relaxed contest and a fun night of partying. I'm not worried one bit about all those things happening though.
5. Are you stoked on the contest?
DS: Absolutely! Let's just hope that we get some good weather.
