The most used application on most pro-snowboarder's phones has a new contender in the form of 'Snowflake' - an app currently looking for funding on Kickstarter that's a '...location-based meet-up app for skiers and riders based on their ability level and what they focus on at the mountain'. Basically, it's Tinder for snowboarding.
It's only going to be launched in the States, but we'd imagine that The X Games is probably going to get slightly more X rated, and the US Open will have an influx of laissez faire Euros looking for an open relationship.
If there was anything that snowboarding needed, it was a dating app that only included pictures of you in full snowboard gear with your face covered. Shit, if you're wearing a Ruroc helmet, someone will think you're an extra in Star Wars. Who knows, maybe people dig that thing?
It's been designed so that you can put your level of riding in your profile, so don't be surprised if you turn up for your first date with your 'pro' match, and they're suspiciously touting an injured knee which is why they can't do that switch back 5 indy they were bragging about before.
We're sure photographers, team managers and coaches are probably going to be the least stoked people when they hear about this. Productivity on shoots will probably drop by at least 75% if this gets funded...
