With just under a week to go Stylewars is preparing to hit Falls Creek, Victoria for the 10th anniversary event. With $25,000 in cash and prizes to be won riders from as far as The Netherlands and Norway will join the cream of the crop from Australia and New Zealand with three days on hill and one night under lights of world class snowboarding.
The names to watch in the slopestyle will be Gjermund Braaten (NOR) who is currently in 5th position on the world tour, Clint Allan (AUS), Jye Kearney (AUS) Nick Brown (NZ), Tor Lundstrom (SWE) and the young Big Air Champ Max Buri (CH). In 28 Stairs the one to watch will be Cees Wille (NED) in a stand out field of street rail competitors.
Sunday will be a practice day. Monday 22nd August will kick off the action in the park with qualification and warm up session from 9 – 10.30 followed by Stylewars jam format slopestyle from 11 – 1pm. This will be repeated on both Tuesday and Wednesday weather permitting and the event will close with the 28 Stair rail jam, event presentation and closing party in the Village Bowl.
