X Games Norway 2017 – Big Air Men’s & Women’s Top Three Runs

Silje Norendal and Mark McMorris take the wins at X Games Norway’s blue-ribband Big Air jump-off…

As the sun started to sink on the second iteration of the X Games’ dalliance with Norway, the Big Air riders took centre stage for spot of techno-jumping.

In the women’s field, though money might have been put on the Cab doubles of Anna Gasser and Julia Marino, some good old fashioned flat spinning was to triumph as Silje Norendal – on home turf no less – made up for a disappointing showing in the previous day’s slopestyle by putting down a Cab 900 and back 720 to pip the Cab double/back 7 combos of Marino and Gasser.

The men’s was predictably a faceoff between the two Canadians – Mark McMorris and Max Parrot – and, here, McMorris’s back 16 triple and switch back 16 triple got the nod ahead of Max’s Cab triple 16 and front triple 16. There was also more cause for local jubilation when Torgeir Bergrem stomped his way into third.

Here’s the highest scoring stomps from all the podiumers…

1st – Silje Norendal

2nd – Julia Marino

3rd – Anna Gasser

1st – Mark McMorris

2nd – Max Parrot

3rd – Torgeir Bergrem
