With just days to go before the Vans Hi-Standard kicks of in Chamrousse on February 20th, riders – from Belgians to Brits – have already been confirmed, but there’s still time to register!
Bringing together a classic Big Air format and a Rail Jam, the mountain’s most laid-back contest sees some of Europe’s best snowboarders go head-to-head for Van Doren Dollars in a ‘Cash for Tricks’ battle. Bring the style, and you’ll take home the dollars. The obvious 1st , 2nd and 3rd places will be hotly contested, but for those that really impress, the additional accolade of ‘Best Trick’ on the rails will be up for grabs, as will the less covetable ‘Best Slam’. Showing love for the rookies and the ladies, there’ll also be an award for ‘Best Under 16’, and Vans will be crowning the first lady of shred as ‘Best Female’.
If you didn’t get a chance to sign up online, you can also register on the day: both registration and practice start at 10:00am on February 20th, so rock up, and get involved! On the snow will be members of the Vans Family such as France’s own Valerian Ducourtil and Marion Haerty, the UK’s Rowan Coultas and Will Smith, Kevin Trammer from Belgium and many, many more!
If you’re not riding, sit back and enjoy the show and a waffle, then join everyone for the celebrations and after-party at La Cheminee until the early hours.
On the same day, the Vans Hi-Standard hits Norquay in Alberta, Canada, before moving on to the final five stops across North America and Canada. Keep an eye on #VansHiStandard to follow the action.
See you in Chamrousse!
