Tailgate Alaska will return to Thompson Pass next season from April 3 – 12, 2015 for its eighth straight year. The event brings together dedicated recreational riders, professional athletes and the industry to ride the world’s best mountains and deepest snow.
Participants access the mountains through helicopter services, snowmobiles, snowcats and by foot or skins. Tickets to the event give participants discounts on lodging, local amenities and terrain access. At night, participants take free snow safety classes, listen to keynote speakers and have raucous parties. It’s no wonder Tailgate Alaska has grown into one of the most popular wintersports events in the world.
According to event supervisor Rasmus Ostergaard, “Our goal is to send everyone home more knowledgeable about how to safely access backcountry terrain – and to ensure deep, untracked powder for every participant.”
In addition to limited edition Tailgate Alaska gear, each participant will receive a voucher good for terrain access through our partner, Black Ops Valdez.
According to event founder Mark Sullivan, “We have been working hard to ensure that the next edition of Tailgate Alaska will an unforgettable, life changing experience. With a splitboard race, Au Natural, a banked slalom and big mountain freestyle competition, we have pulled out all the stops for Tailgate Alaska 2015.”
Tailgate Alaska also plays host to the World Freeride Championship – which has evolved the tradition of competition in pristine mountains and conditions started in the 1990s. Set for April 3-5, 2015. Look for details soon.
Tickets for the event will go on sale September 19th, and are expected to sell out rapidly.
