For the second time this year Tacky – in co-operation with Canon, DC, Pepsi Max and Hafjell – hosted the Tacky Invitational Slopestyle Event at Hafjell Resort in Norway this weekend. Riders from all over Europe were fueled by the cloudless sky and the cold crisp air and put on a display that the Olympic slopes have never seen before. Local Hafjell hero Kim Andre Eliassen was the one that killed the massive jumps the most with tricks like switch backside nines frontside sevens and deservedly won the event. Ulrik Badertscher was the runner up and Simon Fossheim came third.

The Tacky Invitational has grown to be an institution in modern day snowboarding, where the focus of the event is not on the points and seriousness often found at larger events, but rather on spending a weekend with good and friendly party people. Fittingly, Inge Wiig and Espen Wangen dressed up as Santa Claus and a reindeer and barged down the slopes, hitting all the massive jumps and ending up with a backflipping reindeer. To add to the crazyness both guys were connected by a large rope down the whole slope, which resulted in a slam, leaving the reindeer rather tenderised and ready to serve as Christmas dinner.

After the event the newly produced Tacky logo rail was the center of attention as guys like Erik Johan Botner and Youri Jansen flew into the sunset with some picture perfect airs during the photo shoot session, epically wrapping up the 2007 Tacky Invitational.
