Banked slaloms are awesome, and this one – set in the legendary Swedish resort of Riksgränsen – is one of the most awesomest! Get the deets and get low!
“We wanted to have an inclusive event where everyone could gather, hang out, ride, have a good time…” says organiser Anders Neuman of the base ideal of the RBS, and over the years since the first event went down in 2013 they’ve certainly achieved it.
From weekend warrior to am to pro, riders from all four corners of snowboarding will beeline to this northern outpost of snowboarding history to test their edge skills once more from May 12-15 2016. The criteria is simple: fastest wins. But the RBS is much more than just a race; it’s a celebration of pure snowboarding where the whole extended family of snowboarding meet up, share stories, beers and good vibes over the event’s three days.
There are still a couple of spots left so make sure you jump to www.riksbankedslalom.com to lock yourself in for some of the funnest turns of the season.
And this year, there’s even more of a reason to get yourself to Riks. Straight after the RBS, there’s the King of the Hill event that will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Ingemar Backman’s monumental backside air. That Method became somewhat of an unofficial official World Record, but this time round there’s no talk of getting higher than Christian Haller or anything, as the organisers state: “Our goal is not to break a world record air. Focus is on riding and chilling with your friends at this incredible resort above the Arctic Circle.” More info/bookings in Riksgränsen’s events section, or on the KOTH site.
Get more info and book your spot on the Riks Banked Slalom official page. See ya there!
