Hintertux Opening Day 1
Already the first event day on Thursday, 2 October, indicated a Hintertux Opening 2014 at its best: For its tenth anniversary, the Opening offered great conditions in the perfectly shaped Betterpark Hintertux and at the test area. Many snowboarders from all over Europe were hungry for park riding, new gear, and wild parties.
However, Friday exceeded all expectations: Several thousand snowboarders showed up to test the latest equipment from the many attending brands under ideal conditions on the slopes and in the Betterpark Hintertux. The latter in particular has obviously benefited from the cool and snowy summer. Never before has the park been in such good shape for the opening: Around 40 obstacles in slushy conditions - from pro line to veritable jib mecca that runs all the way down to the park lifts - attracted many pros and AMs.
No wonder a lot of pros showed up at 11am for the Alarm Clock Session: Riders like local hero Werni Stock, Roope Tonteri, Seppe Smits, Sebbe de Buck and Adrian Krainer showed their creativity and skills over the clock obstacle. And afterwards, the amount of pros in the park was astonishing: Ethan Morgan, Mario Käppeli, Mathias Weissenbacher, Rowan Coultas, Chris Kröll, Simon Pircher, Gigi Rüf, Marco Feichtner, Michi Schatz, Flo Corzelius, and Tom Klocker are only a few of those who showed up on the Opening Friday. Most of them will also attend the premiere of the new Pirates flick "Perceptions" and the various warm up parties in Tux.
The weather report for the next two days is also all about sun. There's also the extraordinary event schedule: On Saturday the Session of the Dudes in the Betterpark Hintertux and the Aftershred Session at the Hintertux parking lot, and of course the 10th Anniversary Opening Night at Hohenhaus Tenne,. And on Sunday there will be more park riding, the Cash for Trix Session and the Pleasure Kids Shoot. An Opening won't get any better than this!
