When: 28 February 2009
Where: Flumserberg, Switzerland
TRP Team have been blessed with the luck of the Irish, it would seem. After the recent weeks of heavy snowfall they not only scored good conditions, it was also possible to prepare the 3m high Wall and add a second kicker in the park line. Even the weather was perfect on the contest day and everything seemed like it had been planned by the weather gods somehow. But what made this competition special was not just the dreamlike weather, it was the unique concept from parkshaper and old wrestling fan, Raoul: All riders - even girls and mixed teams - had to compete in teams of two and use the park as their boxing ring – guys and girls together. So we had 21 teams on Saturday coming up with the sickest shred ideas to convince the judges.
Winners of the battle and 500 bucks were Stefan Ackeret from Winterthur and Julien Emch from Biel. Also worthy of a mention is the girls' team of Tiziana Casutt from Falera and Enja Beutler from Laax - their team landed in 11th place and they were best ladies at the contest.
It was a fun event with a relaxed atmosphere and after the contest the TRP threw a party at the Goggeien Club with Larosse and DJ aldäwaldä who presented a memorable performance.
Two more events are coming up in the not-too-distant future that you should check out. On 21. March the finals of the Platzhirsch Tour plus on 11. April the Spring Jam of the hillrippers crüe " last run, last hit".
