The advanced participants at the elooa SPLOTBPARD BASE CAMP presented by K2 SNOWBOARDING scored a dreamlike weekend with a climb up on a 2361m high summit and runs through untouched powder fields.

Equipped with brandnew K2 Ultrasplit Splitboards and avalanche safety gear from BCA BACKCOUNTRY ACCESS, the participants hiked up on friday afternoon together with our mountain guides to the almost 1800m high mountain hut, our base for the splitboardtours on the following days. With blazing sunshine on saturday morning we started our day tour up to the Tristkopf and during the hike up, K2 teamrider Berni Winter delivered valuable tips on themes like climbing technique, switchbacks and assembling.

The happy campers reached a plateau just under the summit. After the last steps up to the 2361m high peak and a well-deserved lunch break, a brilliant run down through high alpine snowfields followed. Back in the rustic mountain hut, a strengthening dinner was served and after that, a theoretical keynote about avalanche saftey followed to be prepared for the next day.

Sunday started with snowfall and with an advanced practical avalanche training including snow profile. Subsequent the splitboards were strapped on and after a short hike up, an endless long run down through powder, pillow and forest sections with perfect conditions back to the starting point in the valley ended this camp. Smiling faces recaped this weekend and made sure: „Thanks elooa and Servus until the next splitboard camp!“ For further infos and photos check out: www.elooa.com
