When: Sat 28th of February 2009
Still snow in our boots from the last stop in Poland, the Burton AM Tour Crew travelled up North. 3000 kilometres through 6 countries! When we arrived in the land of design furniture, Volvo and the famous “Knäckebröd” our boots had dried. What remained was the awesome feeling of rocking the first Scandinavian comp of the Tour. Heja Sverige! On Saturday 28 February the Super Park in Tandådalen hosted this Swatch TTR2 Star Event of the Burton AM Tour 2008/09. For their home game, 31 Swedish riders showed up in order to figure out the best “styler” in this sweet labyrinth that the locals call a funpark. After the last two AM Tour Stops had heavy snowfall we found a park shaped in Nordic perfection in a perfect Swedish winter day. The park crew did a great job and made it a better playground than the kids’ corner at a Swedish furniture store. The stage was ready to get rocked.

It was an excellent Swedish feast that was presented to the many spectators around the slope: Rotations on the kickers, tricks on the rails and all this swich… every move was crisp like “Knäckebröd”, juicy like “Köttbullar” and all together the runs were as pure as Swedish water… the Swedish cuisine was tasty and spectacular. All this lead to captivating finals where the riders showed their runs with a smooth reliability of a Volvo. Finally it was Anton Bilare who won the Junior Boys category with a lovely Boardslide 270 off on the Launcher-Box, followed by a Kicker-Combo with a Frontside 720 Lien, a Backside 540 Mute, a Switch Backside 540, a Nosepress on the A-Frame-Box and a 540 over the Bonk-Ball. Within the Junior Girls category Mimmi Sandström cleaned up with a 50/50 on the Launcher-Box, a KickerCombo with a Frontside 180, a Cab 180 Mute, a Frontside 360 Nosebone and a 50/50 on the A-Frame-Box. The Youth Boys final was likewise sweet and tasty until the end. It was Sven Thorgren who dominated the category with a 50/50 to Boardslide on the Launcher-Box, a Kicker-Combo with a Backside 720, a Frontside 540 Lien, a Cab 540 Indy and a 50/50 to Boardslide on the A-Frame-Box. After this first Scandinavian “dinner” the crew is hungry for some more fancy food… Let’s check out what the Finnish are about to serve… You will find out next weekend in Sappee… Do it, do it!
