Over 80 hours of raw footage, five continents, thousands of flight miles, sweat, tears, good and bad moments are behind us. The completion of the project is closer day by day. Spring shoots in Finnish Lapland finished the filming as planned with special features, lots of fun, parties and midnight sun. It was great a season ender. Director Miikka Niemi, AD Teemu Lahtinen and assistant director Juuso Paloniemi have logged all the material and edited the teaser.
The world premiere is going to be held in Helsinki, Finland during Ski-Expo which takes place in the beginning of November. You can have a preview of the project at MySpace.com and our website. Already only Myspace videos have had over 40 000 hits from viewers around the world.
Northern Scrapbook is a new Finnish documentary movie about snowboarding. See how a snowboarding movie with pro riders and upcoming stars is created with a finnish touch. The project shows our season of snowboarding around the globe, not only the best parts but the misfortunes and difficulties are documented also. Finnish Lapland plays a strong role in the film and Finlands four seasons drive the documentary from autumn, through the winter until next summer. All the filming took place during season 2007-08 and DVD will be distributed with snowboarding magazines all around the world in fall 2008. The total circulation of the movie will be massive. The 400 000 pcs makes it the most widely spread snowboarding movie ever.
