The world elite in snowboard and freeskiing will be back at the Olympic arena Stockholm Stadion in the heart of the Swedish capital for the second edition of Winter Jam on November 17. At this action packed event the riders will take huge air in the gigantic jump accompanied by world class music bands and impressive Ski-Doo Freestyle sessions. The prize money is no less than 40 000 USD and entry is for free. The snowboard contest is one of the Nokia Snowboard FIS World Cup Big Air contests around the world 2007/2008. 65 of the world top riders like Chris Sörman SWE, Torstein Horgmo NO, Stephan Maurer SUI (winner of 2007), Risto Mattila FI, Peetu Piiroinen FI, Nils Arvidsson SWE, Jonas Carlson SWE, Stefan Gimpl AUT, Matevz Petek SLO (winner of Winter Jam 2006), Mathieu Crepel FRA and Iouri Podladtchikov SUI will battle for the finals on this historic Olympic arena from 1912.

Last year American Sammy Carlson won the skiers contest Peak Perfomance King of Style and commented: "The jump was amazing and everyone pulled off big air and great tricks."

This year the organiser Ulf Mard promises an even better jump with a smoother inrun and longer transition. Carlson will be back together with 20 riders invited in the world freeski elite including local mega stars Jon Olsson and Jacob Wester..

New for this year: Freestyle Motocross (RedBull FMX) and Ski-Doo Freestyle (RedBull SFX) show. Daniel Bodin, recordholder of the world’s longest back flip on ski-doo last year in Alaska (40 m long!) will not turn you down…

Winter Jam will also host two music artists on stage: rock n roll with Backyard Babies and jazzy hip hop with Speech Defect. And in addition to that a consumer tradeshow with all the new stuff within snowboarding and skiing.

Winter Jam is free entrance for everyone. No tickets needed. Just show up on time!
