€ 30,000 prize-money up for grabs at the world’s biggest girls-only snowboard contest from December 14 to 16, 2007 at the Roxy Park Kitzsteinhorn with test centre and “Labor of Love” movie premiere.

Everything’s prepared for the biggest snowboard contest for girls only! The Roxy Park at Kitzsteinhorn glacier is open and a lot of riders have already confirmed their participation in the Roxy Chicken Jam 2007. The list shows: the world’s best female snowboarders will meet at the 5th Roxy Chicken Jam Europe from December 14 to 16 2007. At the Roxy Park, they will fight for a € 30,000 prize-money and loads of points for the Ticket To Ride Women’s World Snowboard Tour (WTTR). For the spectators, even more is offered – expect a test centre with Roxy and Quiksilver boards and the première of the “Labor of Love” movie!

Cheryl Maas (NEL) and Jamie Anderson (USA), the winners of the previous two Roxy Chicken Jams will also take part in the fifth edition of this 6-star WTTR event. Furthermore, the winner of the TTR tour 2006/07 Torah Bright (AUS), the third of the Olympics Torino 2006 Kjersti Buaas (NOR) and the fifth of the TTR tour 2007 Sina Candrian (SUI) have confirmed to come to Kitzsteinhorn. Plus, there’s Ursina Haller from Switzerland and Germany’s best slopestyle riders Sylvia Mittermueller and Conny Bleicher. Austria will be represented by locals Lisa Filzmoser and Kathrin Gappmayr while Margot Rozies will come from France and Tania Detomas from Italy. US riders Kimmy Fasani, Erin Comstock and Alexis Waite will fly over from the States. Altogether, 25 invited riders plus five qualified will start at the Roxy Chicken Jam main session on Saturday, December 15. The eight best of these 30 participants will attend the super finals on Saturday afternoon.

Valuable points for the WTTR ranking
The victory at the Roxy Chicken Jam has become even more valuable as the overall winner of the WTTR 2007/08 will get a US$ 50,000 prize-money at the end of the season. As the first of only five 6-star events of the tour, the Roxy Chicken Jam winner will collect loads of points for the overall ranking. In addition, she will be awarded with an original Gibson guitar and the main share of the € 30,000 prize-money.

A perfect location: the first Roxy Park worldwide
“We are happy to have Kitzsteinhorn now as our event partner with the Roxy Chicken Jam 07”, Roxy’s Winter Marketing Manager Stine Brun Kjeldaas declared. “Now the move to create our first snowpark in Europe on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier further strengthens our commitment to women’s snowboarding. It’s the perfect location for the perfect park, and we can’t wait to roll out our events programme for girls who want the best conditions, beautiful surroundings, and a super-tight snowpark. Let it snow!”

For this pre-Christmas fight of the snowboard queens, Zell am See-Kaprun is the ideal location due to the Roxy Park on 2,900 m at the snow-sure Kitzsteinhorn glacier. Salzburg County’s slopestyle centre offers three snowparks on a total area of 30,000 square metres. The Roxy Park is the first park in the world that is sponsored exclusively by Roxy. From autumn to early summer, the 250-metre long area with 23 obstacles, eleven jumps and twelve rails’n’boxes offers riding pleasures for snowboarders of all skills.

For the spectators: test centre, movie première & party Spectators at the Roxy Chicken Jam should not only look forward to top-notch snowboarding but also be prepared to go riding themselves and try the latest Roxy and Quiksilver boards of the 2007/08 season at the test centre. In addition, the new “Labor of Love” movie will première at the Roxy Chicken Jam. For this movie, the Roxy girls travelled all over the world to show their rides at the world’s best locations. The result is spectacular and the cast is fantastic: expect snowboarders Torah Bright (AUS), Kjersti Buaas (NOR), Tania Detomas (ITA), Erin Comstock, Amber Stackhouse and Alexis Waite (USA) as well as freeskiers like the 2007 X Games champion Sarah Burke (CAN) or Vanessa Coletta (FRA), Jessica Cumming (USA) and Mille Windfeldt (NOR).

The party on Saturday evening is what finally makes this event really special. So bring the Xmas spirit with you and dance the night away with the snowboard stars.
