We *heart* the Vans Park.
Vans is looking back at a successful park season last year. In cooperation with Mayrhofner Bergbahnen, one of the best snow parks in Europe has been realised: the Vans Penken Park in the Zillertal. As the finest pan-European snowboard magazine, Onboard is the right partner to spread news of the park, which has also made a name for itself outside of Austria thanks to excellent events and a steady presence of the world’s best snowboarders.
Besides a new Onboard obstacle in the park and the dossing of some editors and photographers at the Vans team apartment in Mayrhofen, the cooperation will be rounded off with a unique season’s end event – the Junk & Funk Session.
On April 18, 2009 different teams will “compete” in a laid-back jam format and not only show their creativity on the obstacles in the park but also build and ride their own ‘jibstacle’. For those not competing, there’s still a chance to get involved. The person who collects the most trash from the mountain as adjudged by our special ‘Junk-ometer’ will win some goodness from Vans and Onboard! Commitment will be rewarded with a funky party in the evening. Keep your eyes open for the latest park news in the following Onboard issues and check some more information about the event on vans.de and here on onboardmag.com.
The park opens from 3 January 2009 and a bunch of goodness will go down to celebrate. Check that news HERE.
